Year 12 University of Oxford Trip
May 23rd | by Ms Strat
A group of our Sixth Form students were recently given the incredible opportunity to spend the day at the University of Oxford, hosted exclusively for our school.
Outside of St John's College!
The visit began with an engaging seminar introducing students to university life and what makes Oxford unique.
Following a campus lunch, students toured the historic St John’s College, led by current undergraduates who offered valuable insight into college life.
The Chapel, Saint John's College, containing many monuments from the 17th and 18th centuries.
The afternoon featured a student-led Q&A panel where our students heard first-hand about the university experience and the application journey. The day concluded with a practical interview preparation workshop!
Students explored the expectations of the Oxford admissions process and were challenged with subject-specific questions to help them develop their critical thinking and academic confidence.
One of the over 100 libraries within the university! There are dedicated libraries for all subjects taught at the University.
The University of Oxford boasts the largest university library system in the UK, known as the "Bodleian Libraries". It encompasses the main Bodleian Library, a legal deposit library for 400 years, and 30 other libraries across Oxford!
Thank you to Ms Strat, and the KS5 Team for organising this trip
It was an inspiring and insightful day, giving our students a real taste of what it takes to study at one of the world’s leading universities!
Barnet FC Academy National Cup Winners!
May 28th
A huge Congratulations to our U19 Barnet FC Academy who won the Champions of Champions match vs Solihull Moors FC, becoming National Winners!
Our U19 Academy students' hard work and efforts paid off in the final against Solihull Moots FC at Slough Town FC with 2-2 at Extra Time, and 6-5 on penalties.
With only 10 rather than the usual 11 team members, our Academy boys proved their skill even with smaller numbers!
Thank you to the coaching staff for their commitment and dedication, making this win possible.
The team wore shirts with the hashtag stating, "Long Live Kaylen Dennis" a touching tribute in honour of their teammate, who tragically passed away last December.
Winning the National Cup? No big deal at all!
