End of Term Celebrations
Saying goodbye to Spring Term 2026 with our termly celebrations assemblies!
March 23rd-27th
This week marks the end of our Spring Term, where Canons High School celebrates its students through daily assemblies for each year group. A range of Certificates are handed out, starting with certificates for those with 97%-99% attendance, and for our ever-so-special students who have a perfect 100% Attendance since September!

Our lovely KS3 and KS4 team order the certificates in preparation so each student has their awards ready for easy distribution. Almost a thousand certificates were printed this year, with Ms Rawlings in the Media Department's meticulous attention to detail ensuring smooth assemblies!

Certificates are handed out for out Canons "Keys for Success", where students collect achievement points throughout the term and are awarded accordingly. With the threshold for awards being 75 for a Bronze Award, 150 for Silver, 250 for Gold and 400 for Platinum, it truly takes significant effort that deserves praise!

Alongside the enameled badges and certificates, our students are also gifted a Dairy Milk chocolate bar per award received. This means that the students with multiple awards ended up with not two, or three but even four or five bars for all of their achievements. The chocolate bars are especially appropriate for the soon approaching Easter break, hopefully our students aren't too sick of chocolate by then...

Congratulations Francesca!
An example of a student who worked hard enough to receive multiple awards is Francesca in 9R as pictured above, who achieved over 5 awards. As a result, she was awarded almost a whole handful of chocolate bars for her hard work. Amazing!
Head of Year 9, Miss Marrey's choice for Student of the Term

Our proud Year 7s!
Two students in each year group were especially selected for two very special awards, the Head of Year's Student of the Term, and the Principle's Student of the Term. These two students would receive an exclusive badge, a shining golden circle with the Canons logo across it. This badge recognises their improvement and dedication throughout the year, having collected opinions from their teachers and data throughout the term to reach a conclusion on the two choices.

Our 6th Form assemblies were a roaring success too, with significantly more certificates than previous years. Well done to our sixth formers!
To those of our students who may not have received an award, these results are not based on skill or grades; but consistency and showing up. Coming in to school everyday, doing your best and making an effort is what truly matters. There is always an opportunity to be awarded!
Congratulations to every single one of our students who received an award. You deserve to be celebrated for all of your hard work this term.
Happy Easter Break from everyone at Canons High School!
