'Macmillan Coffee Morning' Event

- 29th September

Every year our staff support this event to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, and this year the baking contributions in particular were outstanding.

Incredible home-made cakes, cookies, brownies and fruit loaves took centre stage in our Staff Room, set out just in time for morning break by Mrs E Mann from our Science Dept, who always organises this extremely popular event.

Principal David Bullock upped the ante this year by declaring there would be 'Star Baker' winners from amongst those bringing in their homemade goodies. Our Food & Nutrition expert Miss M Campbell sampled all the eligible entries and after much deliberation and lip-smacking, declared the winners to be Mrs I Kiashek with her Chocolate and Walnut Brownies, and Ms M Godman with her unusual but very moreish 'Snicker Doodles'. cookies.

But the most important element of this whole fun and tasty event was the raising of funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, who operate as they say, 'Because cancer can affect your life in so many ways, we do whatever it takes to give people the support they need'

Huge thanks to everyone who contributed, joined in and most importantly, donated.

£623 had been raised by lunchtime that same day with undoubtedly more still to come.
