Mental Health Fair!
25th April 2025
Canons High School's annual Mental Health Fair took place this past Friday. Throughout the day students were introduced to lovely representatives from multiple charities and organisations, all centered on young people's mental well-being.
The aim of the fair was to raise awareness about the importance of mental wellbeing, and how a number of charities based in Harrow can offer guidance and support to our youth.
Each leaf on the Self Awareness tree contained the students' and teachers' thoughts as they were tasked to confront their own feelings through an array of questions. It's difficult to be vulnerable when asked what you're scared of or inspired by, but the end of the day the tree was flourishing with notes!
We were joined for the day by representatives from:

And here's what the Charity Representatives thought of our students!
"They were very respectful and curious about Minds’ work. Great opportunity to talk to lots of different students."
"Willing to engage in open conversations. Very respectful, interested and confident. We enjoyed every interaction with young people at Canons."
"Polite, engaged pupils. Open to sharing their views."
Interacting with therapy dogs provides multiple benefits for students, such as stress reduction, emotional support and companionship.
Pets as Therapy and their four trained therapy dogs, : Frankie, Skye, Tim and Faldo were a huge hit with the students!
Compass Elevate's colourful and interactive displays garnered quite
a bit of attention too.
Such a smart puppy!
