We welcomed Year 11s to our Canons Sixth Form! It was wonderful to welcome so many of our own Year 11 students, a large number of external students, and those interested in the Barnet Football Programme. Every classroom was filled with purposeful conversations about pathways, aspirations and why choosing the right subjects matters.

Mr Bullock's assembly introduced the changes throughout the school, with speeches from Ms Strat, the Director of Sixth Form, and two of our Head students.

Students asked thoughtful, insightful questions about Sixth Form life, showing real curiosity about the opportunities ahead. Our incredible Sixth Form ambassadors played a huge part in the evening’s success - acting as tour guides, subject ambassadors, and friendly faces throughout the event. Our Student Hub was particularly popular, giving visitors the chance to hear first-hand what it’s really like to be a Sixth Form student and to study particular subjects.

Alumni Students returned to speak about their journeys from Canons Sixth Form, to their careers.

We were also delighted to welcome back several alumni who spoke to the current Year 11 cohort about their journeys - both during Sixth Form and beyond. This included former students now working or studying in areas such as real estate, psychology, software engineering at Google, finance analysis and many more. Their stories were truly inspiring. It was equally special to have colleagues currently working at Canons who once attended the Sixth Form themselves - real proof of the strong sense of community and belonging here.

The evening also featured a vibrant careers fair, giving students a wide view of possible future pathways and encouraging them to think big about their ambitions.

We are incredibly excited at the prospect of welcoming our Year 11 students into Canons Sixth Form next year!
