Sports Day(s) 2025
July 14-15th
For the second year running, we hosted our annual Sports Day on Canons home ground fields!
Sports Day spans over two days, separated by year groups and gender, and hosts a variety of events...
Students painted their faces in representation of their teams!
The days kicked off with our much anticipated Track Events, featuring activities such as Sprints, Relays and long/short distance races. Several students broke their personal record in these sprints!

The field events were just as thrilling, students competing in long jump, and high jump. Their peers made sure to keep the energy high by cheering and motivating the students participating.
Long and High Jumpers were so impressive!

Making sure to cheer on their friends and peers!
Team sports such as Netball, Basketball, Cricket and Bench-ball showed the true Canons competitive spirit of our players! Students kept matches friendly, congratulating their friends on rival teams, but put serious passion and effort into each match.

Our Faculty of Sport, Health & Wellbeing also ensured there were some fun activities too, games such as the beloved Marble and Spoon race, Beanbag Targets and Tug of War were very popular with the students!

Tug of War was very competitive!

Students were awarded on our celebratory podiums, with Teams ensuring they fit together on the platform! Medals were awarded to each and every participant, with certificates awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd competitors.
Congratulations to all!
We are glad that the rain waited for us to finish up with the activities before sprinkling the field! Even through the unpredictable summer weather, including strong winds, our sports day was a true success! A wonderful way to end the summer term.
A huge Thank you to the entire Faculty of Sports, Health and Wellbeing, for all of their efforts in ensuring this day "ran" smoothly! Especially to Mr Rawlings, for his meticulous planning and attention to detail in updating our annual Sports Day - and his shouty megaphone keeping everyone organised!
