Super Curriculum Fair
Time for our annual clubs fair!
October 2nd

During Lunch break on Thursday, Canons High School's annual Freshers Super Curriculum Fair was held for our Year 7 and 8 students. Canons High School hosts a wide variety of clubs, which are usually hosted during lunch breaks or after school.
Students were curious at first, with only a few peeking around the corners to see what the fair was about - but once they saw the tester activities laid out, the crowd began rushing in.

Here is the entire list of individual clubs, found on the display board near Room 4:
There are over 21 individual clubs, not including the extensive range of P.E clubs. Which include, Mrs Balani's Y7 Maths Marvels, Mr Kaya's Chess Club, Dance with Zara, and Mr Crook's Astronomy Club which this year, celebrates it's 15th year running - Amazing!

Mrs Mann's Yarn Club was a huge hit after students saw the beautiful soft toys and display that she knitted and crocheted herself! There is always a crowd for the P.E clubs too, with a different club daily, many Canons High Schoolers find sports as a way to release their energy after a study-filled day.

Mr Rawlings, Head of Sports, Health and Wellbeing, was definitely happy with the amount of students interested in the sports clubs. The Year 7s and 8s especially loved the equipment the sports department had displayed for students to try their hand at.
We hope our students enjoy exploring the clubs we offer here at Canons. Our teachers are passionate about the clubs they offer, many of them actively choosing to partake in these activities themselves in their own spare time too. It is important to try out new skills, and maybe you might just find a new-found talent or hobby for life too!
