Canons High School

Teacher Development Trust Gold Plaque!

Acknowledging our outstanding commitment to building expert schools through Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

February 1st

The Teacher Development Trust (TDT) Gold Award is the highest award granted to schools through the Teacher Development Trust (TDT), a UK charity dedicated to professional learning.

Earning the award is part of a journey which can take multiple years, within a programme called "Building Expert Schools". Participating schools receive a detailed report of their strengths, and provided with coaching and resources to maintain higher standards.

The Building Expert Schools Programme uses a "people-powered" approach, focusing on the idea that student outcomes improve most effectively when staff are supported to thrive and grow.

It recognises schools that have moved beyond basic training, establishing a "world-class" culture of teacher development, where staff improvement is treated as the primary source for student success.

Gaining a Gold TDT Plaque requires a school to meet rigorous criteria. We are proud to announce Canons High School as having received this prestigious award!

Congratulations to all of our hard working staff, who are constantly improving themselves to ensure that our students get the best education.
