TWO STRANGERS  (CARRY A CAKE ACROSS NEW YORK)

A small and very fortunate group of English students grabbed the opportunity to see one of the hottest new theatre musicals in London's West End on 14th May.

Earlier in the year, English Teacher Miss K Emmerson had organised and coordinated our school's participation in the Coram 'Shakespears Schools Theatre Festival, where our students performed their adaptation of 'As You Like It', live on stage at the ArtsDepot in Finchley.

A very fortunate off-shot of that was the recent offer of theatre tickets from the festival's organisers. Miss Emmerson jumped at the chance and secured enough tickets to form a small reward trip for students who had excelled in their studies.

The show was fantastic and everyone who went on the trip was very grateful for the tickets and the great opportunity.

Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) is London's 'delightful new musical rom-com' (Time Out), now playing to ecstatic audiences and earning a barrage of 5-star reviews from the critics!

Dougal is a naïve, impossibly upbeat Brit who's just landed in New York for his dad’s second wedding. The dad he’s never known. Waiting for him at the airport is Robin, the sister of the bride. She’s a native New Yorker, she’s late for work, and she doesn’t have time to stop and see the sights. Instant attraction? Nope. But with an extravagant wedding approaching, the Big Apple at their feet and the wedding cake to collect and carry to the venue, anything could happen!

‘An instant classic - part musical, part fairytale, part dream, and wholly unmissable’ (Spy in the Stalls)

Two Strangers is 'as good a night out in the West End as you can get’ (WhatsOnStage.com).
