Sixth Form Taster Day
An opportunity to experience “A day in the life” of a Canons Sixth Former!
November 21st | Ms Strat
Following the success of our Sixth form Open Evening, students returned on Friday 21st November for our highly anticipated Sixth Form Taster Day.

Students arrived in their own clothes and immediately stepped into the independence and atmosphere of Sixth Form life. Throughout the day, they made full use of our dedicated Sixth Form facilities, including the Common Room, Study Room and social spaces, giving them a real sense of the freedom and responsibility that comes with being part of our community.
Students thoroughly enjoyed the Art department, Even Mr Brown got involved with the photoshoot!

A key feature of the day was the chance for students to sample a range of subjects based on their preferences and ambitions. By attending interactive taster lessons and meeting subject teachers, they were able to explore new interests and reflect on the subjects they may wish to pursue next year.
One Year 11 student shared, “I really enjoyed how the classes were very interactive and interesting. It really helped me get a deeper interest into subjects I wasn’t sure of choosing or not.”
Mr Wahab presented Psychology to the students!
Staff noted how engaged, curious and mature the students were throughout the day. The experience encouraged them to think carefully about their strengths, future goals and the wide range of pathways available at Canons.
Definitely deep in thought about his career path (albeit slightly exaggerated!)
Here's what Ms Strat - Director of Sixth Form had to say!
"Overall, the Taster Day was an invaluable opportunity - helping students build confidence, discover their interests and begin shaping their future Sixth Form journeys. We look forward to supporting them as they take their next exciting steps."
