University & Apprenticeship Fair
March 21st
by Ms J Halai | Assistant Director of KS5
On Friday 21st March, our Year 12 students had the exciting opportunity to attend a University and Apprenticeship Fair at the Emirates Stadium in Holloway, London, home of Arsenal FC.
The event was designed to help students explore their post-18 options, offering a valuable chance to speak directly with representatives from a wide range of universities, apprenticeship providers, and employers. I'm sure that the football fans particularly enjoyed the ambience of the venue as well.
The event celebrated the different pathways young people can take with a diverse selection of options, designed to help equip each student with the knowledge and guidance they need including a range of seminars with information on topics, such as student finance, why take an Apprenticeship, University Life and Courses, UCAS Personal Statements, etc.
Throughout the day, students gathered information on various degree courses, entry requirements, and alternative career pathways such as higher and degree apprenticeships. Many found it particularly helpful to discuss real-world career opportunities and gain insight into the skills and qualifications needed in different industries.
The visit was an excellent way for students to start thinking about their next steps and begin planning for their futures. Feedback from the students has been overwhelmingly positive, with many leaving the event feeling more informed and inspired.
”The Emirates stadium trip was an amazing opportunity for all of us to explore our options for university and anything else post-eighteen by being introduced to different pathways.
Not only was it very informative to talk to different universities, but also meeting new people and enhancing social skills, such as, for example, gaining the confidence to start a conversation and ask questions of the representatives of many different universities.
I found that this changed my perspective on what I truly want to do after A-Levels.
Thank you to the sixth form team for giving us this opportunity."
