Canons High School

Preventing Radicalisation

At Canons High School we ensure that through our school vision, behaviour policy, diverse curriculum and teaching we promote celebration and respect for all cultures, faiths and lifestyles. We are committed to safeguarding, and promoting the welfare of all of our students. We recognise that in an ever changing and fastmoving world it is essential that we promote student’s well-being, confidence and resilience, and that we provide our students with up to date information and signpost them to places where they can find support, where necessary.  We support students in this through a robust and comprehensive PHSE and Personal Development Curriculum

At Canons High School we committed to delivering the government’s Prevent Duty. The Prevent duty requires a wide range of bodies, including all schools, to have due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism and extremism. Students are educated about the dangers of radicalisation and the techniques used by those who seek to recruit young people into extremist groups.

Do not hesitate to contact us and let us work together to celebrate our diverse and tolerant community.
