Secondary Transfer – children starting Year 7 in September 2021
Many of you reading this page will be the parents of Year 6 children looking to make choices at secondary transfer. We hope that you will come along to our Open Evening or one of our Open Mornings (when school is in session) to have a look around and see for yourself how great we are as a school. These visits form part of a six stage recruitment and induction process.
Stage 1 – In September/October of Year 6 you will receive information from Canons and be able to attend our Open Evening or Open Mornings ahead of your applications to Harrow Council.
Stage 2 – After you have received your offer letter from the local authority (February/March of Year 6) Canons will send a letter to the families of students who have been allocated a place.
Stage 3 – In the summer term of Year 6 members of Canons staff will visit primary schools to find out more information about students coming to us in order to help a smooth transition.
Stage 4 – In June of Year 6 the families of students coming to Canons will have the opportunity to have an interview with a senior member of staff to ensure we have all the information we need about the child.
Stage 5 – In June/July of Year 6 all students coming to Canons will have an induction day at the school. That evening there will be an opportunity for families to meet key members of staff and to get information about starting in Year 7
Stage 6 – In September of Year 7 our new Canons students will arrive, fully equipped and full of high hopes and expectations, for their first day of secondary school.
